These are great pants for lounging around the house when it's cold outside. They are very soft, rather thin, but very warm and comfortable. I have been wearing them practically every day since I got them in the mail.
They do run a little large, I may order a small since I prefer a slimmer fit. I am a size 6-8 pant, size 30 jean, and these fit like a sweat pant, loose and baggy. I much prefer the fit to be closer to a legging, or at least a slim pant. There is alot of stretch in these pants so I think it would be fine to go slimmer, and then they may work well under a shell for cold weather hiking.
I would recommend this product.
