This is the first MHW item I purchased as a small.I wear a small for other companies, but usually purchase a medium for MHW gear.Since it has a relaxed fit, the size is perfect for me.I carefully compared it to my Helly Hansen Arctic Legacy Parka and The North Face's Tasman Down (my dads') and McMurdo (my Brothers'). I found it to be VERY comparable in value and function.I choose theLacerta ultimately, for the what I felt was a more durable outer shell and comfy cuffs at the wrist. In the Northern part of Michigan's lower Penninula things can get might cold with heavy lake effect and high winds.
***Two Things though MHW R&D please listen... if the fuax fur would attach to the hood with either a full length zipper or add 3 buttons instead of the one would help ALOT! Mine looks eh.With the only button, buttoned the sides twist and look funny to where the fur has to come off(and I liked the fur).Second, a draw cord at the bottom or mid-torso like the Downtown Parka would make this the PERFECT PARKA.Either way, I felt it was the best of the brands in this $280-400 price range.I expect it to last for year to come. Thanks!
I would recommend this product.

Nice coat, pending the warranty

I purchased this coat so that I could have a warm, casual, everyday winter coat. I know that the weather in New York City is not as cold as other parts of the world; however, New Yorkers spend a significant amount of time outside during the winter months walking to and from mass transportation, waiting for mass transportation, and just getting from point A to B. To say the least this coat is very warm and it fits the bill. However, after less then one month of wearing the coat I began to notice the stitching and the DryQ shell fabric beginning to wear on the inner sleeves near the wrist. I have an open RA with Mountain Hardware and will ship the coat to the warranty department after winter is over. I will follow up with this review after the warranty department gets back to me about the coat. But for now I cannot give this coat a high rating as I would have liked.

Warmest jacket out there

I typically just wear a soft shell during the winter down here, but this jacket changed my outfit completely. Once I put it on, I couldn't even feel the 17 degree air around. I understand this jacket is a bit overkill for a southern winter, but this jacket is money well spent.

I moved to Alaska in the beginning of spring, and missed the coldest part of the year. Until recently, my softshell was fine as long as I had a few layers underneath it. However, once the cold really began to hit around the middle of November, i needed something warm, and this jacket definitely fit the bill. The internal wrist cuffs help seal out the cold, and the faux fur ruf actually does a great job of helping to keep my face warm. The many pockets give me all the space I need to stash my day to day necessities, and it is just a darn good looking coat. I would definitely recomend this jacket to anyone.

I currently live in a Baltic country and the Temperature is already at freezing. I purchased this coat to assist with the very cold winter coming up. so far there are no disappointments. The fit is just right, I am generally a medium wearing individual and this coat fit perfect at medium. I threw the hood on one day that it was blowing hard I could feel it warming up my head without event tightening the strings. I like the sweater cuffs on the wrist to prevent wind from getting in the sleeves and it's soft too. Pockets have a thin fleece lining which was nice. My only thought would be to have that same thin fleece lining throughout the whole coat, but that is a minor issue. Overall very good coat, thank you.
