I used the Desna as my “lightweight” balaclava on Denali. It seemed a bit large at first, but the sizing actually made it easier to adjust and accommodate additional head and neckwear. The mouth/nose pieces isn’t form fitting, but it did block the wind without causing major glasses/goggle fog up. I definitely appreciated the longer neck piece, which made it seem like both a neck gaiter and a face mask.

I think this is a great balaclava for very cold conditions wearing no sunglasses because they get all fogged up! :-) I still love it and will use it when doing bivys and maybe even for extreme cold skiing, but I don't ski much... You can always pull it down under your mouth to avoid the fogging, but that's not the intention for this item...
I would recommend this product.

There's really not that much to say about a balaclava. This one fits great under a helmet. It's warm and the holes help keep it from turning it into an icy mask. I found myself pulling the front down when yelling commands to my climbing partner so he could hear, but I also tend to not speak clearly anyway. It will get lots of use the rest of the season.
I would recommend this product.

I was definitely skeptical about getting a balaclava, never have really liked the way they feel in the past. This one is great though, fit is perfect, material is phenomenal and it's super warm!
I would recommend this product.

Gave this one a shot for a Tibetan November. It kept me toasty at lower wind speeds, but was nearly useless above ~15 mph. I would recommend it for a ski trip or a typical winter in colder climes, but not for serious cold and wind. In terms of size, I have a fairly large noggin (XL usually), and I felt like I was swimming in it. While it is great in terms of width, the length seems a bit obnoxious. The nose hole was nearly at my mouth, and the bottom extended about half-way down my chest. While I'll find something else for the field, I'll keep this one around for other uses.
I do not recommend this product.
