Lamina -15 bag in MHW SuperMega UL2 tent on canoe camp trip
I recently took this furnace out on a winter canoe camping trip to an island on a big lake in SC. It dropped to an unusual ambient temperature of 9 degrees with the real feel of exactly 1 degree...and that wasn't counting for any lake affect wind, there were 10-15 MPH winds that night. Bottom line: I was toasty! I ended up stripping down like I dress for bed at home; wore nothing but boxers and I was very comfortable with this bag in virtually 0 degree weather. I'm usually skeptical about manufacturers' claims about sleeping bag ratings, but this one's just about spot on.
Size: I'm 6'2", stocky, 220 lbs. and has plenty of room to move around. I also had my phone, Kindle, and two fuel canisters in the bag with me and never felt cramped.
Packability: MHW is known for having below standard compression/pack sacks and the one that came with this was the same. I purchased an aftermarket sil-nylon compression sack and it got this huge bag down pretty small for what it is.
I'd highly recommend this bag for anyone looking for a high quality, affordable VERY COLD weather synthetic.
I would recommend this product.
