I purchased this backpack for my 12 year old son. He is small and thin. This pack fit and did the trick. We spent four days backpacking in the Emigrant Wilderness. 22 miles and hours of hiking with no complaints about the pack or hot spots from the straps or pack.
He was able to pack his sleeping bag, cushion, clothes and all the gadgets (pocket knife headlamp shovel /TP compass and mess kit) a boy likes to carry in this backpack. I would recomend this as a great pack for kids just starting to backpack.
