I have owned this bag for 2 years now and have used it in AK, MT, SD during the fall and winter months. This bag is true to its 0 degree rating. The coldest night in the Phantom was around -20 F in AK and with a few extra layers I had no issues staying warm. You will not find an ultralight winter bag that is as compact, true to its rating, and light as the Phantom 0. The only feature I was not too fond of was the smaller zipper. It was often getting caught on the fabric on the inside, but other than that, this bag is worth the purchase. Strong work MH.
I would recommend this product.

Awesome bag. Superlight due to the light-weight nylon used on the bag. Without the heavy Conduit shell the bag breathes better and reduces the overall weight. Only complaint is the zipper. They used a smaller zipper to cut down on the weight and it's a bit difficult to zip/unzip.
I would recommend this product.

Great Bag for weight conscience hikers

I have found this to be a very warm bag. The length is great and is very roomy in the hips and feet. My only issue is it could have used another inch or two at the shoulders. I have spent a few nights in lean-tos and tents over this past winter. Usually I would wake up with a layer of condensation on the bag but the bag is not wet at all. The one time I found the bag to be wet was when I was forced to use it with a bivy bag. I think it was more of an issue of the bivy not breathing and holding in the condensation. I would recommend this bag to anyone who was looking for a light weight, warm bag for winter camping. I would like to see a version of this with an Event shell.

Great Bag

This is one of the best down bags I have owned. Very light for the warmth that it provides. I would recomend this bag to anyone looking for a cold weather bag.
well considering the bag i replaced was 17 years old, the phantom is pretty sweet. very light, tons of loft, and very warm. i have slept in it for about 20 nights, and handfull of which temps were in the teens. no problem or noticable cold spots. i agree with the zipper comments as getting to your zen place is helpfull when using the zipper from inside the bag in the dark. my only worry is that for my location in the southern appalachain mountains moisture is rampant. even in below freezing temps condensation inside a bivy is an issue, and even sleeping out, frost on the outside of the bag is common. i wonder if i should have purchased the banshee with a more water repellant shell? my job does not typically allow me to hang out and dry things in the morning sun, it's pack it up and go. so....eventhough i am a little anxious about moisture wetting the down, overall i reeealy like this bag
I was also trying to decide between this bag and the Marmot 0 degree bag, and got this one after reading the review above that compared the two, and trying the marmot bag in the store. I have the phantom 32 and have been very impressed with it as well. I have not used this bag yet but it seems to be very well designed and well-constructed, super warm, the loft is very high (I got in it at home but overheated within a minute or so and had to get out!)
The fabric is very soft and light, comfortable on the skin, the hood and footbox are comfortable and well-designed, the drawstrings feel different so you know which one to pull, there is a pocket by the head for a watch, etc. All in all this is a top-notch, very well designed, high quality bag. The one flaw is that the zipper tends to get stuck sometimes - the backer is minimal (to save weight I guess - I'm OK with this tradeoff.
This bag is exceptionally light for the warmth, used it down to -10, no problem.. I have average build 5'11 and did not feel comfortable in the regular size. The Long model is nice and roomy, quick and easy to pack. I just wish the shell was done in Sl Conduit fabric, would be nice for the moisture build up in tents.. However would probably make it a heavier bag. Great bag for those who like to pack light even in the winter.
