So I've had this bag for 5 seasons. I use it primarily for winter camping with outside temps ranging from 0 to -40. I'd say that the -30 rating is pretty accurate, as I've never truly been "cold" while using the bag.
I liked that it is synthetic, in our expedition tents after a few days of condensation freeze and thaw cycles the bags get pretty wet. This bag was a little easier to dry out during the day than the marmot down bag we have with us. I've always kept it hung in a closet so the loft has always been good even after years of use.
The fit for me at 5'11 190 is great, and the zipper is perfectly easy for me to manipulate in the bag. Hood zips over my face so no complaints from that stand point.
Bottom line, is it as warm as my marmot down -40 bag? Heck no, but it also didn't cost $700 so thats fine. For the money I really recommend it as the difference between this bag and a high end down bag will be negligible for anyone other than those doing serious mountaineering (like everest or something). If you're looking to get into winter or colder weather camping just buy this bag and never be cold again.
I would recommend this product.
