Love EV2

I've owned my EV2 for several years and have been thru some high winds and heavy snowfall in it. When the sky is dumping, I wake up every couple hours and shake it from inside to slough off the accumulating snow. I tend to guy it out in 6 or 8 places and tie the lines off to snow anchors. If there's downed wood in the area, I dig a hole about a foot deep, loop my line around an 8" long, 1.5D branch. Refill the hole and let it sinter for half hour. Then tighten it up like an orange drum!
Typically, I use it as a one man tent, storing my gear inside. I keep all the snowy boots, gaiters etc by the door and periodically sweep the detritous out the zip hole in the floor. Quite handy. For what its worth, I love the looks of this tent. It reminds me of something that floated out of the cargo bay on the Space Shuttle!

Nice and expensive

This is a nice tent, but the price is quite ridiculous. It performs well in high altitude areas. Do not, under any circumstances use this tent in the rain. Ever. Buy something else for rainy expeditions.

This tent is what you're looking for in the backcountry! Packs well, withstands everything and sets up easy! Our Kodiak hunt was much more comforatable thanks to this tent! I was particularly impressed with how well it handled the salt water and sea spray! EVERYTHING we had that had even a twinge of metal was corroded by the end of the trip minus this tent! It didn't have a spot! It withstood up to 50 MPH wind gusts, 5 days of constant drizzling rain, and two tired hunters looking for a warm bed! It IS a bit "intimate", but is not a problem if you're with your significant other. One suggestion... It needs a slightly larger vestibule, or a fly that would shelter more gear. Pack covers and tarps were the principal defense against soaked packs.

My wife and I use this tent for winter hiking in Alaska's interior. One night it got down to -30 out with a moderate wind, the vents worked great when we opened the bottom of the door to allow adequate air to flow through. We had a light frost on the inside of the tent but nothing we couldn't knock off and sweep out the bottom zip. Loved the tent and look forward to winter hikes again this year! Gear was a bit cramped for two, ended up putting packs under our legs, helped tremendously. Might get an EV3 to help with the space issue. But still works amazing for us how it is.

I got this for a one man tent for winter hiking in Alaska's Chugach Mountains. Its perfect for what I was looking for! Very light, bulletproof, and room to keep my gear inside. It sets up easily even in the wind.
It would be 'intimate' for two, but you could do it. I just wouldn't want to. I have a Trango 3.1 for that.
